Noisy neighbours
Living not only in the hotel, but right next to a guest room, we have quite a lot of interaction with our lovely guests. After getting fed up with the 'establishment' and in rebel mode we were getting ready for a night out and decided to have our music on slightly louder than 0 decibels. The background to our rebel without a cause attitude was due to our neighbours having the noisiest brattiest kids in the world, and causing general trauma everyday, waking us up in the morning with cries of 'MUMMY, MUMMY, I HATE YOU!', ok so we did have a cause. Having heard my own parents stories of woe on family holidays where they were deeply embarassed that they had to leave myself and bro in the hotel room to 'scream it out', I thought the family would feel a little ashamed too. Oh no, they hit back in their holiday feedback in our little noise war. They actually made a noise complaint against myself and Roz, and I can't believe I'm writing this, but the complaint was for 'opening the door too loudly'. In true Mark Warner style this absurd door opening rampage was not dealt with lightly. We were spoken to by the assistant manager and told that if we did not keep the 'noise' down we would be forced to switch rooms with the lads downstairs because they have been very 'well behaved'. Clearly this highly unnecessary door opening was reason to brandish us as trouble makers. Well done Dark Corner, you have excelled yourself.
