Posh hobo
Exhibit A. The reason why you don't put Camembert in the oven for 40 minutes
Working on a Dark Corner wage is pretty depressing. After a few too many quiet nights working the bar and seeing all our staff get wasted, we realised that once we receive our pitance of a wage, we kindly give it straight back to Mark Warner by drinking in their bar. So technically they pay us nothing. In an act of defiance to the corner, 'Hobo Fridays' were invented. This is basically buying Spar's most expensive bottle of cheap wine (2 euro bargain), drinking it round at one of the off site accommodations (away from the door banging frenzy of die box) having some amusing drinking games, then rocking up to the Mark Warner bar, wrecked and ready for action, hopefully without parting with too much more money in the bar. So far it has worked pretty well, until Mick, our head chef, came up with the idea of 'posh hobo night'. For merely 10 euros, we all chipped in and Mick and Handyman went down to Spar (clearly the only shop in la Plagne) and made a killing. They even came back with wine that wasn't hobo wine, we're talking over 4 euros! Mick made us all dinner and a concoction of rum based cocktailery, in the form of a drink called 'Zombie'. It all went well until we realised that Zombie and a drunk chef don't mix too well, the result being burnt....CAMEMBERT!
